^ Credence Tablets
Credence tablets are a quick, easy and inexpensive method of maintaining water quality. Credence tablets are simply dropped in the header tanks (or applied via a dosing mechanism) to control water borne pathogens, algal growth and fungi in the reservoirs and waterlines to help ensure the provision of clean, safe water.
The water-soluble, effervescent tablets release chlorine to provide a powerful disinfectant solution, effective against a wide range of pathogens including salmonella, E. coli, campylobacter, and clostridium, which are involved in many diseases affecting different classes of pig.
Good water quality is essential to the health and welfare of any livestock, but a ‘biofilm’, often builds up in the tanks and pipelines and this can release toxins which impair pig performance. A single Credence tablet a day popped into the header tank – depending upon its size – will sustain water quality.
The tablets are provided in two
strengths –
Credence 200 a single tablet which will disinfect 200 litres of drinking water and
Credence 1000 to treat 1,000 litres.
The tubs, containing 200 tablets (sufficient for 40,000 litres of water) and 60 tablets (sufficient for 60,000 litres), are priced at £19.75 and £22.75 respectively.
Credence tablets have received Defra approval for use as routine disinfectants.
They are suitable for:
• use in footbaths
• vehicle disinfection
• misting / fogging
• hand washing.

Fogging technique and application
Thermal fogging is the generation of ultra-fine droplets in a range of 1–50 microns using thermo-pneumatic energy. Liquid substances are vaporized in the unit and form ultra-fine aerosols by condensing on contact with cool ambient air.
Thermal fogging is used for any pest control task where active substances should be uniformly distributed even in inaccessible places, without leaving undesirable residues.
The fogging technique is the ideal method for treating large areas and spaces with a minimum quantity of chemical or pesticide solution, less operational work and with little risk to the environment (less residues, no penetration into the ground), e.g. in the field of public health, stock protection, plant protection, disinfection, decontamination and deodorization.
