Quality Equipment certainly enjoys the ‘work hard, play hard’ saying as much as we knuckle down we also get together for events throughout the year.

Specialising in mainly pig equipment and accommodation we believe in, and support British Pork. You’ll often find at our company events a hog roast! They truly are the best.

Raising money for charity...

Quality Equipment is a firm believer in supporting their local area using local suppliers and vendors where possible. As well as raising money for charities across the country both as a company and supporting our fantastic colleagues in their efforts to do this. 

Most recently, Frank Barrett our Workshop Manager cycled the length of Great Britain, from Lands End to John O’Groats! We sponsored Frank, and supported him all the way visiting him at various checkpoints and holding a celebration event once his legs recovered! This was in aid of East Anglian Air Ambulance & SERV.

Quality Equipment employees have also participated in events such as the Mud Run. Which I can assure you, was indeed very muddy! Raising money for other causes such as Breast Cancer.

Sponsoring local sports...

Generally speaking, we have a lot of employees interested in a sport of some kind. Be it football, golf, formula 1 or horse racing you’ll be in good company! Quality Equipment has sponsored the Diss Rugby Club multiple times and attended their events with a table for the day! it’s a cracking day out and all in the company are welcome. 

When it comes to the Euros, World Championships or any major sporting event we get behind the Nation and host viewing parties to get a crowd of our own together and watch it on the big screen with pizza, beer and plenty of cheering!

We are environmentally conscious

With the national emphasis focusing on energy-saving and the reduction of greenhouse gases QE is now involved in heat recovery and energy conservation in both its new and refurbished buildings. We use energy-saving materials where possible and the environmentally friendly recycled plastic panel, Paneltim as often as possible. Ensuring we follow all Environmental Agency standards and in most cases exceed those recommendations. Our in-house designed automated feeding technology has helped to save the lives of thousands if not millions of piglets over the course of time we strive to reduce the mortality of pigs ensuring the highest standard of health and care for animals. It doesn’t end there either! Quality Equipment is constantly looking into ways to protect the environment locally and globally with our equipment.

In line with our ongoing development plans, we are offering some exciting opportunities to join our construction team as a Groundworker. We welcome applicants with experience in agricultural construction as well as those from other construction backgrounds who are eager to apply their skills in this sector.

Responsibilities:
• Site clearance and preparation of aggregate layers and membranes
• Excavation including foundations, trenches, ducts, chambers, etc
• Preparation, shuttering, reinforcing, pouring, and finishing of concrete
• Installation of drainage and slurry handling systems
• Installation of Concrete Panels, Posts, Steelwork

Key Requirements:
• Willingness to travel and work away on projects as required
• Experience in agricultural or general construction
• Experience of operating construction plant and equipment is an advantage
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

As part of our ongoing growth, we are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Multi-Skilled Fabricator.

As a Trainee Multi-Skilled Fabricator, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing and assembly processes. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training in general fabrication, plastic panel cutting, welding, equipment assembly, fitting work, and finishing techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow within a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general fabrication tasks using various materials
  • Accurately cut plastic panels according to specifications
  • Carry out welding tasks with precision and attention to detail
  • Assemble and fit equipment components according to engineering drawings
  • Contribute to finishing processes to ensure the quality of the final product
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised workspace
 

Key Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of fabrication and assembly processes
  • Excellent dexterity and manual skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Willingness to learn and be trained in various fabrication techniques
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Previous relevant experience is desirable but not required

  • On site welding of brackets, tabs, posts and channels

  • On site welding and fabrication of bespoke components to support on site installation and fitting tasks.

  • Welding repairs to existing equipment

  • Installation of livestock penning systems

  • Installation of livestock feed and drinking systems.

  • Installation of livestock ventilation systems

Key Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel and work away on projects as required
  • Experience in agricultural or construction sectors preferred
  • Understanding of Mechanical and/or Electrical systems

Summary of Position:

Design, plan and carry out site installation and testing/commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment and systems, including power distribution, earthing and bonding, lighting, ventilation equipment, drive and control systems for feed/watering systems, IT infrastructure /networking components.

This role requires working and staying away as site locations dictate.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and plan electrical installations to meet the needs of new build construction or refurbishment projects
  • Procurement of electrical equipment, cables and installation materials
  • Complete electrical installations to meet design, quality, budget and timescales, including:
    • Power distribution, earthing and protection devices
    • Automated feed systems and associated control systems
    • Water pumping, filtering and dosing systems
    • Indoor and outdoor lighting systems
    • Ventilation systems, fans, curtains and associated control systems
    • IT infrastructure, including network cabling and components
  • Attend and resolve breakdowns of electromechanical equipment and systems
  • Provide remote diagnostics and support for automated control systems
 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Core Electrical Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Systems and
    Equipment or equivalent
  • Competent in the current IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition, BS 7671):
    with specific knowledge of Part 705 – Agricultural and Horticultural
    Premises
  • Inspection & Testing: City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) for inspection,
    testing, and certification of electrical installations
  • Health & Safety: Up-to-date training in safe systems of work, including risk
    assessments for farm and rural environments (e.g., working around
    livestock, damp and dusty conditions, confined spaces, and outdoor
    exposure)
  • Specialist Awareness: Understanding of agricultural hazards such as
    corrosion, mechanical wear, explosive atmospheres (ATEX), and
    equipment selection for harsh environments
  • Experience: Proven practical experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in farms, livestock facilities, and outdoor
    environments
