Mini Transition Feeder

The Mini Transition Feeder (MTF) is an innovative solution designed to support early gastrointestinal tract development of piglets, consequently producing healthy and uniform litters with greater vitality and high weaning weights.

The feeder has been developed in the last 10 years to reduce the pressure on the sow, given the increasing number of piglets weaned per litter, due to improvements in production systems and modern genetics. The MTF helps the sow maintain body condition throughout lactation by reducing demand for milk, whilst also conditioning the piglet’s gut in preparation for weaning.

The MTF is equipped with a range of features that optimise feeding for piglets and minimise the amount of manual labour required by the stockmen. Feed from the MTF is mixed on demand; therefore, it is always fresh. It has an adjustable meal–to–water ratio, making it suitable to be used for different feed types. The feeder provides for 2 litters simultaneously as it is installed between 2 farrowing pens. It has a low voltage power supply and comes with installation profiles, making it easy to install and set up.

Paneltim Sparks Electrical Idea

A new use has been found for Paneltim the plastic panel normally used for pig-pen divisions, according to Suffolk-based Quality Equipment. A local engineering company has successfully employed the material to protect external electrical cables from the weather.

For various reasons the wiring could not be incorporated within the building but the Paneltim – which is strong, lightweight, and weather-proof proved to provide an ideal solution. Using their special Paneltim welding equipment, QE made up a seamless 1200mm x 1500mm x 400mm deep box-like enclosure that fitted neatly on the side of the building.
