Two employees from Suffolk buildings and pig equipment company, Quality Equipment, have completed a charity run and raised over £650 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.  This will contribute to the £10,000 target the company plans to give to the charity to mark QE’s 50^th anniversary year.

Henry Stark (24) from QE’s marketing department and Frank Barrett (43), manufacturing supervisor, took part in the Lee Valley 10-mile event within the Olympic Park, London.

Both Henry and Frank were within seconds of their target times, completing their circuits in 1 hour 15 minutes 56 seconds and 1 hour 28 minutes 25 seconds respectively, but admitted to finding the run challenging, despite both being very fit.

The company is supporting the East Anglian Air Ambulance service for two very good reasons. Firstly, it is a local and worthwhile charity and, secondly, it saved the company’s founder, Glyn Baker from a life-threatening situation when he had an accident on a farm some years ago.

“It was amazing running within the Olympic Park but more hilly than we expected and warmer, too, at 17 deg C,” said Henry “But we were pleased to contribute to the QE target.”

East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) is a 365-day helicopter emergency medical service covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
